Brian Bon Scott Johnson
Brian Bon Scott Johnson

At the age of four, on a family vacation, Brian Bon Scott's musical journey was sparked as his mother's voice tenderly filled their car with the melody of "You Are My Sunshine," Scott, nestled among his family, instinctively harmonized with her. This spontaneous display of musicality, met with astonishment by his mother, unveiled a natural talent that set the stage for his extraordinary journey. At the age of nine, Scott joined the church choir, where his vocal talents were nurtured and refined. This foundational experience led him to audition for the Tucson Boys Choir, marking a pivotal step in his career and broadening his musical horizons. It was during these formative years that Scott's passion for music deepened, setting the course for his lifelong dedication to the art.

With the support of his grandmother, Scott began lessons on an acoustic guitar at Eastside Studio in Tucson. The desire for an electric guitar soon followed, culminating in a pivotal moment when his father purchased a Teisco guitar and a Rosac combo amplifier for him. His musical journey took a significant turn in 1974 when he met Milton, Chuck, and Dan, members of a band named Demon Skull, who were in need of a lead guitarist and singer. Seizing the opportunity, Scott filled the vacancy, marking the inception of Heavy Axe, a band that would come to play hundreds of house and desert parties, captivating audiences sometimes numbering in the thousands.

His relentless pursuit of new music led Scott to discover AC/DC's album in May 1976, a band that, while initially mistaken for part of the emerging punk wave, resonated with him on a deeper level. Heavy Axe's decision to cover songs from this album, including "Live Wire," not only showcased his adaptability but also introduced AC/DC's raw rock n' roll to his audience, further cementing their reputation.

His songwriting prowess was recognized in 1991 when he placed in the top 10% of the Billboard Songwriters Contest, a testament to his evolving artistry. Over the years, Scott has played in at least 20 different bands, each collaboration enriching his musical repertoire and confirming that his renditions of AC/DC songs consistently electrified audiences.

From a spontaneous harmony in a family car to the stages that reverberated with his electrifying performances, Brian Bon Scott's journey is a testament to the enduring power of passion and perseverance in the realm of music.

Gonzalo Molano
Gonzalo Molano

Gonzalo Molano is a well-established staple of the Southern Arizona music community. His career as a musician spans over 30 years and various musical styles.

During his classical guitar days, Gonzalo played important concerts as a solo artist and with symphony orchestras and chamber music ensembles. He went on to win the first prize award in several international guitar competitions, including the Society of American Musicians in Chicago (2003), the first Texas Guitar Competition in Dallas (2001), the Norman Sholin Memorial Guitar Competition (2004 and 2005) and the Thomas H. Beeston Memorial Guitar Competition (2003) in Arizona.

Gonzalo has been praised by influential figures such as Henry Fogel, the former president of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and served on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Early Music Society in the mid-to-late 2000s.

Building upon a solid classical music formation, Gonzalo returned to his childhood roots and insatiable passion for the music of the abyss. In heavy metal, he found a warm space called home. A bit too warm at times, perhaps, as his audience seems to never get enough of his infernally scorching and gloriously melodic guitar solos.

David Badinger
David Badinger

David was born into a musical family. His father and all of his uncles play guitar, so music was a big part of his every day life. Family outings always included the guys "pickin'" and "grinin'" and the ladies harmonizing along. He started taking music lessons at the age of nine with the goal to surprise his father upon returning from Okinawa, Japan. When David's father came back home, he found a son that had learned how to play music, and so began a life long bond as musicians, between father and son.

David's first gig was an elementary school program where he did a duet with a very talented singer, Melody Miller. After they performed, the crowd rose to their feet. "I remember the goosebumps I had, and how proud dad looked. I knew right then and there that this is who I am and this (music) was what I was meant to do.", noted David during a casual conversation with his band mates.

David moved to Southern California with his family, just before he started high school. There, he met new musicians and soon became a part of an incredible musical scene. Soon after, he had the opportunity to tour with a band from Jacksonville, Florida, named Doc Savage. "...a dream come true", recalls David when asked about his unique experience. After touring with Doc Savage during 1987 and 1988, he made new connections in the Tucson area, where he moved to and settled.

Since his arrival to Tucson, Arizona, David has played in numerous bands including Way Station, Code Orange, Rock Molly, and Scare Card, just to name a few. During the last 2 decades David has had the honor of collaborating with Sean Mausert. The 2 of them have forged a close brotherhood which has earned them a reputation for being one of the best rhythm sections around. Sean was instrumental in getting David involved and laying the foundation for one of America's best tribute acts: The Jack.

Family, honor and loyalty are very important aspects in David's life. He takes his responsibility as an entertainer very seriously. One thing that you will notice about David's approach to music is that "It's all about having fun!". He is always smiling, full of gratitude. And he might ask: "Why don't you come down and join the party?"

Sean Mausert

In 1984, Sean Mausert's love affair with the drums began with the electrifying beats of Van Halen's "I'll Wait." Inspired by the pulsating rhythm, he quickly set out to replicate the magic on his younger brother's toy drum set. By August 1986, Sean's passion had reached a fever pitch, and all he wanted for his birthday was a real drum set—with one condition: he had to take lessons. Under the guidance of Fred Hayes, Sean honed his skills, thanks in no small part to his father's unwavering support.

In 1992, Sean took his first steps onto the stage with Nightfall Avenue, marking the beginning of a musical journey that would see him sharing stages with his childhood idols. From Code Orange to Rock Molly, Scarecard to his current endeavor, The Jack, Sean has left an indelible mark on the musical landscape.

Yet, amidst the whirlwind of performances, one thing remains constant—Sean's unwavering belief in the power of music to bring joy. For him, playing the drums isn't just about hitting beats; it's about creating moments of pure, unadulterated fun. And in The Jack, Sean has found a musical home where the spirit of camaraderie reigns supreme.

As he continues to drum his way through life's symphony, one thing is abundantly clear—FUN isn't just a word; it's the heartbeat of The Jack, and the driving force behind Sean Mausert's musical journey.
